Information about your first visit...

When Should I arrive?

Please come 15-30 minutes early to allow adequate time to fill out paperwork.  If you prefer, you can stop by and pick up a new patient packet prior to your first visit; or we can email you a PDF version and you can bring your completed paperwork with you.

What should I bring with me?

We will need a copy of your current insurance card, a current photo ID, the prescription for therapy from your referring provider, and any additional information you may feel is necessary for your care.

When is the best time to begin physical therapy?

In general it is important to begin as soon as possible and medically appropriate.  If you have had surgery you will need your surgeon to release you for treatment.  The sooner you get started the sooner you will be back to your regular activities.  Every client is treated individually and will have activities/exercises assigned that are appropriate for your stage of healing.

What should I wear to therapy?

This depends on which area of the body is being treated; shorts or pants that are easily rolled up for knees and ankles, short sleeve shirt for shoulders, elbows, and hands.  The therapist will need adequate access to the affected area.  Clothing that is flexible and comfortable for exercise is highly recommended.

How long will a therapy visit take?

Your first visit will take from 60 minutes to 90 minutes as you will be evaluated by your therapist and you may be asked to perform exercises in addition to finishing with ice. Subsequent visits should take approximately 60 minutes to complete your program.
